This painting has a unique backstory. I was going through old files I stumbled upon this early version for the cover of The Dream Thieves, back before I asked the author to sneak me a copy of her manuscript so I could read the story. I then produced the image for the second book in the best-selling series.
I shared this photo from 2012 and got a lot of encouragement to take it through to fruition. So that's how this piece came to have a life of its own.
